Art on the Rocks is Birmingham Museum of Art's event including live music, creative expression, themed beverages, and specialty foods.


This season will showcase Birmingham artists, musicians, dancers, actors, and designers whose performances are inspired by works in the Museum's world-class collection. Every Art on the Rocks event will feature live art collaborations, a photo booth, giveaways, and much more!

This year’s special guests include: Dj COCO, Red Mountain Theater, DancE, ArtPlay Teaching Artists, Sidewalk Film Festival, Opera Birmingham, Aldridge Botanical Gardens, Yellowhammer Creative & Gus Mayer!

Please join us on July 20th from 7-10pm at DanielDay Gallery/Dream Mecca Studio for the party you don't want to miss! Our own Magic City Dee-Jays will be spinning records for your enjoyment, and yummy snacks & soft drinks will be provided. BYOB

You can browse tents and buy produce from local farmers markets including Pepper Place Saturday Market, Jones Valley Teaching Farm, and the UAB Wellness Veggie Cart; enjoy live music by the Jason Bailey Trio; and attend "seed planting" talks by local craft brew makers, coffee roasters, innovative growers, and others pushing the field forward. Get a bite to eat from a local company leading the way in sustainable practices, Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q. Plus, sample craft brews from Good People Brewing Co., taste delicious foods with demos and help us celebrate our state's farmers and farming community. Play bocce ball or croquet, compliments of Green Central Station. Kids can create garden collages, edible sculptures, and learn about plant and animal species in their watershed in the ArtPlay Kids' Courtyard!
